Tuxedo Junction

It’s Tuxie Appreciation Day, 9 September.
I know. It seems only yesterday that we were appreciating the Cary Grants of the cat world on Tuxedo Cat Appreciation Day, 28 January. And, brace yourselves, National Tuxedo Cat Day comes round again on 29 November (See blog post for that date). Tuxedos are so cool they get three separate days dedicated to their gloriousness. Like Groundhog Day but with dapper cats.

Go Tuxies. Why have one day of appreciation when you could have three? Tuxedo cats are born dandy, so obviously they need more than one day a year to show just how fine they are. The other two days are rather formal affairs that require putting on the full ritz, but Tuxie Appreciation Day, as it’s name indicates, is  altogether more chill, focusing on the hipster cats who wear the tux but team it with havianas and raybans, figuratively speaking. More dude, less dandy.

To find out more about why some cats have a dress code, while others go for dpm or monoblock (it’s in the genes), check out upcoming Clowder Press title, How Cats Work .
