The OTHER Cat of Science

‘As I stroked Mačak’s back, I saw a miracle that made me speechless with amazement. Mačaks back was a sheet of light and my hand produced a shower of sparks loud enough to be heard all over the house.’
His father explained that this was electricity, the same thing you see through in a storm. Thinking about it, Tesla began to wonder,”Is nature a gigantic cat? If so, who strokes its back? It can only be God,”
There’s a thought.
Adult Tesla went on to pioneer many developments in electrical power, all of whjch we rely on today, perching on the shoulders of the mighty Michael Faraday who had began developing these ideas some half a century earlier. But it all started with a cat. And was followed up by Tesla’s insatiable curiosity, which is of course also very cat.
This kind of thing is the rationale behind the Clowder Press. They aim to find the cat angle in every creative endeavour and use it to explain scientific principles, artistic creation, literary genius and much else. Cats as educators. You may have paid zero attention in Physics class at school (boring), and consequently have no idea how any of your devices actually work, but lead the lesson in with a cat, and you are ready to learn.
