Now you see it...

Enigmatic street artist Banksy has been sparking joy in the UK – well, London mainly – with a series of delightful silhouettes of animals having fun: a goat teetering by Kew Bridge, elephants entwining trunks in Chelsea, monkeys brachiating across a bridge in Brick Lane, a lone wolf howling on a satellite dish in Peckham (it’s already been nicked), a brace of pelicans guzzling fish on the wall of a Walthamstow chippie and the latest one, a black cat stretching indolently on a billboard in Cricklewood.
The cat has been taken down, to prevent it suffering the fate of the wolf. Belvedere and I think it very fitting on the occasion of quantum genius Erwin Schrödinger’s birthday – a cat that is both there (in media images) and not there IRL.
A nod to the Cheshire Cat as well.
