It is now twelve years since the Day was inaugurated on 24 June 2012. It has been an unqualified success. As Belvedere points out, many times, cats have been playing a very long game indeed in their bid to take over the world with class, style, as little bloodshed as possible, and no unnecessary expenditure of energy. We  are now entering the cat endgame and the Rapture will come soon. Humans are ready for painless surrender. 

All of us at Clowder Press are delighted about this. It is time cats were recognised for superior beings and brilliant educators that they are.  

Of course, this day is not celebrated by cats themselves. It is a CTA (ho ho) to humans to devote the day to the service of cats. Offerings, lavish gifts, unconditional and exclusive worship, prostration, voluntary enslavement, etc are all required, along with the public acknowledgement and celebration of what is no longer in doubt. Cats Rule.
