As Aries headbutts Pisces out of the way, we welcome the zodiacal New Year, which starts round about the Spring Equinox (20 March this year). 

Aries is the first sign of the zodiac, full of vigour, energy, enthusiasm, positivity, yang, confidence, creativity, self-belief, bravado and chutzpah. All cats like head butting, but an Aries cat in full turbo mode might knock you over.They are hugely affectionate but will not sit on a mat for longer than it takes to scarf down a whole bowlful of their own food, and anyone else’s who isn’t quick enough of the mark. Pounce first, think later is their war cry. These are the jackass cats, who believe they can span any distance in one bound, or leap from high buildings and fly; they are the cats most likely to get stuck up trees, down wells, under car bonnets or to run away and return in one-eyed triumph after stowing away on a trawler for ten years.  

They will do their best to avoid being neutered , so move fast if you don’t want your kitten to have kittens. Your vet bills will be eye-watering.  If you like a quiet life, do not get an Aries cat.
