It’s National Cat Day in Japan on February 22. The date for this annual feline celebration was chosen in 1978 by the Executive Cat Day Committee , after they had polled popular opinion. They chose it because in Japanese it sounds like “nyan, nyan, nyan,” which means “meow, meow, meow.” There are around nine million domestic cats  in Japan and we at Clowder Press wish every one of them a grand day.
