As promised, an update on FC Clowder City, the team Roger and I are building for our foray into Fantasy Premier League.  We are field testing the efficacy of the feline factor in football, if you remember. 

We are overjoyed to discover that our cat criteria allow us to select Bukayo Saka, midfield dynamo and goalscorer for Arsenal FC and England.  Over 178 appearances in the number 7 shirt for the Gunners he has scored 50 goals, 10 of them pens,  given 42 assists and never been red-carded. Not only is he an efficient goal machine (fourth best after Haaland, Salah and Watkins) he is a brilliant playmaker, compact, fast, smart, either-footed, a joy to watch and almost always a 90-minute man.  All that and he is an absolute sweetie beloved by all. 

And why can we do this? Remember we have strict feline derived criteria. I cannot find out if Bukayo  is owned by any cats, but I have discovered that his name, Saka, is the Malagasay word for cat. So he is eligible for our team. Result!

(FYI, Malagasay is an Austronesian language spoken by around 26 million people. It is  the official language of Madagascar, the Comoros Islands and the Seychelles; it is wonderful eclectic, as it is a mixture of dialects and languages from south-east Africa and Borneo, with loan words from Arabic, Persian, French and English and probably others as Madagascar featured on most trade routes.

So  FCCC is looking good. We now have two of the top four forwards in the premiership. More  news as it comes in.
