Boxing Day

Belvedere and I have been relaxing over our cream bowls throughout the Christmas break and meditating on 26th December, aka Boxing Day in UK.
Why is it called Boxing Day?
There is a theory that it was named for the medieval tradition of putting money into alms boxes to help the less fortunate; or that it is a more modern idea, by which we mean established in the 19th century, when it became the practice to give Christmas boxes, in the form of goods or money, to tradespeople in recognition of a year of hard work.
Not very convincing, as we think you will agree.
We considered what happens on Boxing Day. Traditionally. it is all about doing as little as possible, eating leftovers and sleeping off excess. And there are plenty of boxes, discarded once the gifts have been unwrapped.
Food. Sleep. Boxes.
See where we are going?
Boxing Day is obviously dedicated to cats.
